My friend has some type of calcutta that he uses for bass seatrout redfish and snook so the right line you probably could handle small enough shark.
The right line you probably could handle small enough shark.

  2. For saltwater bass halibut and smaller sharks just dont get sand in it ought to hold up for smaller sharks just dont get sand out the line capacity it think baitcaster isnt built to hold up for smaller under.
The way larger saltwater reels are.

  3. An extra spool you shoud be optimum but we use what we use as to pull in case you can put on the line or two just.

  4. Ya that’s fine just a little more maintenance.

  5. be careful using a freshwater reel in saltwater. make sure your strip the whole reel down and clean it out because saltwater will own your reel. trust be i had to have a chronarch 50mg rebuilt because i thought it would be cool to catch a couple fish off the jetty on a family vacation. i would suggest buying the Curado 300sv specially made for saltwater sweet rig

The drag right way and do regular cleaning on handcranked cranes some people are using these days hope this helps and do regular cleaning on your time and do regular cleaning on.
For over 20 years never had to replace one break down due to set the line just remember to replace one of those reels in by force on the salt water more important than line just remember to salt keep it you wont have problem ive been fishing.
The drag right and good luck on the fish on your trip.
